Cats Send the Teddy Bears Flying and Light the Lamp vs. Oregon

Tucson Ariz.- University of Arizona Wildcat Hockey picked up a 7-0 victory over Oregon on Thursday night in a game where the Cats scored early and often. Trystan Swiger gets the credit for the “Teddy Bear Toss” goal only 57 seconds into the game from a nice feed by Jack Kurrle. Defenseman Ryan Fischer would finish the game with four assists while Jack Kurrle, Trystan Swiger, Tyler Shetland, Dylan Walker, Brian Ericsson, and Micheal Pizzo all finished with two points. Freshman goalie, TJ DeMeuleanaere stopped 36 shots to earn his first ACHA shutout.

The Wildcats are right back in action on Friday and Saturday at 1pm vs. San Diego State University. This is the first time these two teams have faced each other, San Diego State (SDSU) is set to enter into the WCHL Conference with the Wildcats next season.

The Wildcats hit the road next weekend for a weekend set vs. Grand Canyon University in Phoenix. The Wildcats swept Grand Canyon early in the season on home ice and will look to carry that momentum into the weekend set on the road on February 2nd and 3rd.
