Wildcats Outscore Opponents 16-2 in Weekend Victories

Tucson Ariz.- University of Arizona Wildcat Hockey picked up a 5-1 win over San Diego State to complete the two-game sweep of SDSU. Freshman goalie, Nate Gulsvig, picked up the victory stopping 15 of the 16 shots he faced. With the 7-0 victory over Oregon on Thursday night and the 4-1 victory yesterday afternoon over SDSU the Cats would outscore both teams 16-2 in the three games. Forward, Dylan Walker, had a big weekend picking two goals and five assists in the three games. Close behind him was newcomer Jack Kurrle, who two goals and three assists.

The Wildcats hit the road next weekend for a weekend set vs. Grand Canyon University in Phoenix. The Wildcats swept Grand Canyon early in the season on home ice and will look to carry that momentum into the weekend set on the road on February 2nd and 3rd.   

The Wildcats will continue their Gem Show road trip with a trip back to St. Louis for a Thursday night game vs. Maryville and a weekend set vs. Missouri State. The Cats recently traveled to Maryville for a set of games and will look build on two hard fought losses the last time the two teams met.
