Wildcats Clinch 6th Consecutive Cactus Cup on Home Ice

Tucson Ariz.- University of Arizona Wildcat Hockey picked up a 5-3 victory over rival Arizona State on Thursday night to clinch 6th consecutive Cactus Cup. The Cats, trailing 2-1 after the first period stormed back with a three-goal second before sealing it with a third period power play goal. Dylan Walker picked up three points on the night while Nicholas Chiocca and Trystan Swiger each had two. Graduating senior, Brody Selman, picks up the game-winning goal with a power play tally assisted by Jesse Lowell who will also be graduating in May. Goalie, TJ DeMeulenuaere, picked up the victory turning away 38 of the 41 shots faced.

The Wildcats will finish off their regular season on Saturday vs the same Arizona State Sun Devils. Puck drop is set for 1pm and will put a cap on the end of an exciting regular season. The Cats will continue to honor the six graduating seniors on Saturday afternoon and hope that you will join us to make their last home game an incredible experience.    

The Wildcats will have one more exhibition game at the TCC before heading off to the National Tournament vs the Arizona Coyotes Alumni. By partnering with the Tucson Roadrunners, we are excited to provide a day of Hockey in Southern Arizona. One ticket gets you into both the Wildcats game and the Tucson Roadrunners game later that evening. Come cheer on your Cats and see some Coyotes Alumni including Michael Grabner and Ray Whitney, make sure you stay after the game for the post-game autographing signing with the Alumni and Wildcat hockey players.
