Tucson, AZ The #18 Wildcats fell to #4 Minot State 6-2 on Friday night. The Wildcats held a 2-0 lead until Minot State scored three goals in the final three minutes of the first period to take a 3-2 lead into the dresing room after one. The Beavers scored two more in the first three minutes of the second period to cap a five goal rally in a five minute span.
"That was obviously the difference in the game, " stated assistant coach John Watanabe. "We had a mental lapse for five minutes where we collapased defensively."
Minot scored their final goal with 1:53 remaining to seal the 6-2 win.
Arizona put 25 shots on net and went 0-3 on the power play. Minot put 32 shots on net and was 1-5 on the power play.
Both teams will face off again tomorrow night at 7:30pm at the TCC.
