Tucson, AZ It wasn't pretty but the Wildcats found a way to get it done Friday night defeating NAU 3-2 in the Wildcat Hockey home opener.
Arizona started with a two goal lead in the second period but NAU battled back to make it a tie game 2-2 to start the third period.
"I think it was a mixture of not being on the ice much this week, nerves with the home opener, and a little bit of a lack of execution," stated head coach Sean Hogan. "But, I'll always take winning ugly over losing pretty any day of the week."
Arizona received goals from Alex O'Dea, Shane Gleason and Robbie Wilkinson. Steve Sisler started in net for the Wildcats.
Next Up: Arizona will face a stiff test from #6 Delaware tomorrow night at 7:30 pm at the TCC. Delaware lost 7-2 Thursday to #1 ASU and then were upended Friday night 3-2 in overtime.
