Tucson, AZ #13 Arizona faltered against the #4 ranked Liberty Flames Friday night and fell 5-2.
"It was a tough night, and we had plenty of chances just didn't capitalize," stated head coach Sean Hogan. "We need to come out tomorrow refocused and energized." Arizona had 45 shots on goal but only found the net twice, Liberty put 46 shots on net and potted five goals.
Arizona ended the first tied 1-1, but gave up three goals in the second period to end the stanza down 4-1. Arizona tallied a power play goal in the third to close the gap to 4-2 but a late Flames goal iced the 'Cats for a 5-2 final.
Arizona received goals from Grant Nicholson and Ansel Ivens-Anderson.
Next Up: Arizona will battle with the #4 ranked Flames again tomorrow night at 7:30 pm.
