After a 3-1 win last Saturday night, which put Arizona’s six-game losing streak to a halt, the Wildcats look to capture their fifth and sixth wins of the season this weekend against Michigan State.
However, these wins will not come easy as Arizona faces a Spartans team that already has six wins out of their nine games this season thus far. Notably, one of those losses came in a shootout skills competition.
“They only have three losses and they are against quality Division I opponents like Illinois and Western Michigan, all of which were close games,” said Arizona head coach, Chad Berman.
The Spartans arrive in Tucson finding themselves on a four-game winning streak, with three of their most recent wins coming against archrivals the University of Michigan and Ohio State.
Earlier this week, Berman spoke about the matchup, and what his team must do to pull out the victories.
“I expect a real good test and an opportunity for us to build off of our win last weekend against Colorado. Defensively, we have been playing well enough to win, we have to generate more shots and get to the net more.”
Be at the Tucson Convention Center for puck drop at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday night against the boys from East Lansing.
