Next season is still a few months out, but Wildcat Hockey has already begun preparation for the fall. In addition to weekly team workouts to keep the current players in shape, Coach Berman has been working to recruit new players the past couple months.

The program is excited to introduce the first addition to the Wildcat Hockey team, Matthew Armenti. Armenti will be a sophomore defensemen, transferring from the University of Rhode Island.

“We are thrilled to add a defensemen of Matthew Armenti’s caliber, said Coach Berman.  "We are putting a heavy emphasis in our recruiting on building a strong  defensive core. Adding him to this group gives us a real nice start. Armenti has a lot of the skill sets we are after; he has good footwork, competes at a high caliber, and is an excellent puck mover. We will be able to use him in any situation and he will immediately slot in as a top four defensemen. The best part of Matthew's game is he has a lot of room to continue to develop on what is already a really nice foundation.”

This past season at the University of Rhode Island, Armenti put up 31 points, with 7 goals and 24 assists. He was named to the 2014/15 ESCHL All-Rookie Team, and was second in the ESCHL in scoring for defensemen.
