The Arizona Wildcats are thrilled to announce the addition of, Sean Ozment, a left-handed shooting Defensemen from Greensboro, NC. Ozment, standing at 6’1” 200lbs, will be another very important piece on the back end, as the Wildcats continue the retooling of their defense for the upcoming 2015/16 season.

“We have been very specific about the type of student-athletes we want to add to our group,” said Coach Berman. “The more film on Sean that I watched -- the more convinced I was that he would be a perfect fit -- as a big 2-way Defenseman, with great puck moving skills. We want to be a team that is more difficult to pay against this year. Sean is a great kid who will bring the kind of compete level and grit that we will need in order to be the stingy-defensive team we strive to be. We feel very confident that we have improved the skating and skill-set of our Defensemen, so it was important to add some physicality as well. Sean has mentioned to me at least 5 times that he aims to win a National Championship. That’s important to me, since you can’t accomplish this lofty goal without all members of your roster with the same mindset.”

Sean Ozment will be the 3rd Defensemen to transfer to the University of Arizona, coming from NCAA D3, Bethel University. Before playing at Bethel, Sean played at Monroe Community College (NJCAA) and played his junior hockey with the East Coast Eagles, of the Eastern Junior Hockey League and the Wilkes Barre Scranton Kinghts, of the Atlantic Junior hockey Lague.

“I’m really excited for the transformation to a big school and college town atmosphere,” said Sean Ozment. “Along with joining a program stocked with talent, a great coaching staff, and high aspirations of winning a National Championship, Bear Down!”

The Wildcats kick off the season against Northern Arizona University on September 25 and 26. Puck drop for both games will be 7:30 pm at the Tucson Convention Center.
