After a huge sweep against #13 Colorado State, the Arizona Wildcats have earned a spot in the ACHA National rankings, placing them 14th in the country!  The Wildcats have had a difficult schedule early in the season, proving they can compete against some of the best teams in the country.

“The biggest difference I have noticed lately has been our preparation and pace in practice,” said Coach Berman. “I am a big believer that how you prepare fuels your confidence, and the more confident you play, the more success you will have. We have had a lot of injuries and roster changes so far this season. The silver lining is, it’s given some of our younger guys opportunities to further develop in situations they otherwise may not have received. They’re coming along nicely and finding ways to contribute.”

This weekend the #1 team in the country, Minot State, will be rolling into the TCC. After a huge weekend themselves, Minot is coming off of an emotional high, as they swept the #3 team in the country, Colorado.

“We have a tremendous challenge ahead of us,” said Coach Berman. “Minot is a big, skilled-team, who is very well coached. In my opinion, they have the best offensive duo in the country with; #11 Jeremy Johnson and #19 Brett Nespor. We will have to find ways to slow them down, along with the rest of their very deep lineup. There is no question that this is the best team in the country, we are going to need our fans to be extra loud this weekend.”

The Wildcats will take on #1 Minot State this Friday and Saturday at the TCC, both games will start at 7:30 pm. Saturday night will be ‘Tucson Schools night,’ so bring the whole family and check out the new, ‘Kids Zone,’ located above the Wildcats goaltender during the 1st and 3rd period.  The Kids Zone will take place every Saturday in November. There are a ton of exciting things to do in the  ‘Kids Zone, ’ where kids can; take pictures with a cutout of goaltender Garret Patrick, get their faces painted, and shoot on an actual hockey goal!
