Your #14 ranked Wildcats came up short this past weekend against #9 ranked Colorado Buffaloes. The Buffaloes depth and high-end skill proved to be too much for the Wildcats as they fell 6-3 on Friday and 2-1 in a shoot out the following night.

The Buffaloes, one of the top teams in the country, were spearheaded by a top line, consisting of; Chris Burkemper, Jake Bauer, and Matt Anders.

“I mean no disrespect to any other team in the ACHA,” said Coach Berman. “ But their number one line is the best in the country. We have played against some elite top -lines, including Central Oklahoma and Minot State, but that line puts it all together. They have a great mix of skill, hockey sense, and compete level. We were happy to contain them on Saturday night, I thought our matchup guys did a great job of taking away time-and-space.”

All in all, Saturday nights game was a strong performance; one the Wildcats can build from. It was an evenly contested game, with long stretches where the Wildcats were able to carry the play.

“We have one of the toughest schedules in the country, “said Coach Berman. “Every weekend we are challenged to play our best. When we play with that kind of defensive tenacity we are tough to play against. It may not show up in the results, but I thought we got better tonight. Our puck support was much improved and as a result, we were able to win more ‘small area’ battles. The next step for us will be getting that next goal to get the win. We have to find a way to win these games“

The Wildcats will have this weekend off until they return to action next Thursday. They will taking on ex-Arizona Wildcats’ coach, Sean Hogan, and his #7 ranked Ohio University Bobcats.
