The Wildcats are proud to announce the first addition to their 2016 - 2017 recruiting class, Camden Armstrong.

Armstrong, from Newburyport, MA towers at 6’4” 210 lbs. His game can be best described as a stay-at home defenseman, who uses his size and physicality to his advantage.

“Cam was a huge get for us,” said Coach Berman. “He will be a major piece for us moving towards our championship aspirations. Anytime you are building a championship contending team you want guys who are elite in their role. Cam knows exactly who he is as a player and he takes a lot of pride in what he does. He will be a guy who can compliment a skilled player on the back end or he can be used as a shut down pair to match up against the opponent’s top lines. He brings a lot of what we need; he is strong in the corners and wins a lot of small area battles by using his size and strength, taking away time and space. If you’re going to be successful in playoff hockey, those are the areas you must thrive. We are very excited to add Cam to the mix” said Berman.

After a season with one of the most prestigious Jr. A programs in the USPHL-Premier, The Islanders HC, Armstrong played for the New England Wolves in the EHL, thriving as the top penalty killer and match-up defensemen. Prior to his time with the Islander HC he graduated as a captain form the Brooks School in Andover, MA where they went on to win the New England Prep School Championship. Armstrong caught some National attention, as he was selected in 2011 to the US National Development Camp.

"Choosing Arizona was an easy decision for me based on the business school, hockey program and weather" said Armstrong. "I hope to be an impact player my freshman year and can't wait for the season to start".
