The Wildcats got a nice gift of their own over the holidays, adding Jason Zaleski to the 2nd semester roster- an elite talent from Scranton, Pennylvania.

Zaleski comes to the Wildcats as a transfer player from NCAA DIII SUNY-Buffalo State, where he has spent his previous two seasons. During his freshman season he finished with a point per game, tallying 13 goals and 12 assists.

Before his time at Buffalo State, Zaleski played his junior hockey in the OJHL (Ontario Junior Hockey League) with the Trenton Golden Hawks, making him the second player in this recruiting class to come from the Golden Hawks (Robert Smythe was the other). The Trenton Golden Hawks are considered to be one of the premier programs in the OJHL.

“I chose U of A because I feel it is a great opportunity to further my education and hockey,” said Jason Zaleski. “It seems like a great area to live and I am excited to play in front of all those fans. My expectations are to come to Tucson and win a National Championship.”

Standing at 5’10”,180 lbs., Zaleski brings exactly what the Wildcats need; a proven goal-scorer who provides speed and playmaking ability on the wing.

“Adding Jay gives us a big boost heading into the second half,” said Coach Berman. “He gives us a new look in terms of team speed and depth. I am excited to see how he fits into the mix and hopefully he gives us a spark."
