Captain O’ Captain!

The Wildcats have a lot of buzz surrounding this year’s team and for good reason. Expectations are as high as they’ve been in a long time and leadership will play a major role.

For the first time in a while, the Wildcats will have a returning captain, Dylan Carter, from Toronto, ON; something Coach Berman says will be invaluable.

“Without question Carts is the engine that makes us go,” said Coach Berman. “He’s a natural leader that sets the tone with his work ethic. It’s the small details in his game that really stand out. A great example would be last year’s overtime game-winner in the National Tournament. It was easy to recognize the beautiful play between the Hogan twins. That play doesn’t have a chance to develop without Carter’s gutsy back check-sending the play the other way.”

“He truly cares more about the guys in the room then himself. On the surface he’s not overly vocal, but when he does speak, it holds a lot of weight. He carries himself with a lot like Steve Yzerman and Jonathan Toews-with a quiet confidence. Having someone like that in a returning role will be a major reason for our push forward this season.”

Carter was able to sit down with Scott Strande, from Ice Times Hockey SW, for a preseason outlook in a new segment called, Captain O’ Captain!
