Wildcats hit the road to face Central Oklahoma, Oklahoma

The Wildcats (3-0) are coming off a two-game sweep last weekend over NAU at home where they outscored the Ice Jacks 12-4.  The home opener Friday night was the Wildcats most explosive performance of the season as they scored eight goals, with four of them coming from Kyle Fargesen.

Saturday’s game didn’t provide the same fireworks, but the Wildcats still cruised to a comfortable 4-1 win over NAU. Fargesen added another goal, his fifth on the season, and an assist, moving his point total to eight which is tied for tops on the team. The Wildcats also received goals from Toppie Hogan, Chris Westlund and Dylan Carter.

While the Wildcats are off to an undefeated start to the season, the team faces a tough task ahead it begins a difficult road trip Thursday. The Wildcats will take on No. 5 Central Oklahoma Thursday at 8:00 p.m. CST and No. 9 Oklahoma Friday at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday at 4:00 p.m.

The Central Oklahoma Bronchos is 6-1 to start the season with their only loss coming last Sunday against Lindenwood University. The Bronchos have scored five or more goals four times this season.

Central Oklahoma features a high powered offense that has six players with eight or more points on the season so far. The leading point-scorer, Sam Rice, has tallied 12 points on nine goals and three assists.

Through seven games, No. 9 Oklahoma is 5-2 on the season. Like the Bronchos, the Sooners also dropped a game to Lindenwood. The Sooner’s top scorer is Michael Behm who has totaled eight points with four goals and four assists.
