The Wildcats hockey team defeated the No. 9 Arizona State Sun Devils Friday night at the Tucson arena thanks to an overtime goal by the team's leader in points, goals and assists, Toppie Hogan. Other goals were scored by Kyle Fargesen, Trey Kerns, Hunter Stavroff and Jason Zaleski.

With the National Tournament a month away in Columbus, Ohio, the No. 21 Wildcats need to break the top-18 to qualify for the tournament. A sweep over ASU would almost certainly launch the Wildcats into the top 18.

"He's [Toppie Hogan] been our best player all year so for him to hit the game-winner, it's very fitting," Coach Chad Berman said. "Tomorrow's win has a chance to put us in the National Tournament."

The Wildcats will honor its seniors tomorrow night before they take on the Sun Devils at 7:30 p.m. at the Tucson arena.
