The Wildcats are excited to announce their first recruit for the upcoming 2017/18 season, Justin Plumoff, who comes from Ashburn, Virginia; where he won back-to-back State Championships at Briar Woods High School, in addition to being named a 1st team member of the ALL-Met team.

Plumoff comes to the Wildcats as a transfer player from NCAA DIII Fitchburg State University to study at the prestigious Eller School of Management. Before his time with Fitchburg State he played his junior hockey in the EHL (Eastern Hockey League) for the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers, putting up 36 points in 40 games played, while also serving as the team captain.

"I'm honored and excited to become part of the University of Arizona, both academically and within the hockey community,” said Justin Plumoff. “I'm excited about the opportunity to pursue an undergraduate degree at the highly-ranked Eller College of Management and look forward to contributing to the hockey team's continued growth and success in any role needed.”

Standing at 6’0” 180 lbs., Plumoff brings a lot of speed and leadership, something Coach Berman is emphasizing on his roster moving forward.

“Just plays the game fast and enjoys being the first guy on the puck,” said Coach Berman. “He will be a great fit in the kind of system we want to cultivate here with his speed and playmaking ability. More important than all of that, he is an excellent person. I was excited about his playing potential to begin with, then I had a brief conversation with him about how he handled a difficult situation at his previous school and I knew immediately that he exemplified the exact the kind of character we want in our program. He will be a great representative in our community and brings a winning mentality to our room.”
