The Wildcats are excited to add their 2nd commitment for the 2017/18 season with the addition of Josh Larson, from Fredricksburg, VA.

Larson - along with recent commit Justin Plumoff - comes to the Wildcats as a transfer player from NCAA DIII Fitchburg State University to study at the prestigious Eller School of Management. Before his time with Fitchburg State he played his junior hockey in the EHL (Eastern Hockey League) for the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers, putting up 51 (29 goals and 22 assists) points in 39 games played, while also serving as a team captain. Larson's 29 goals lead the entire EHL and his 51 points ranked 10th overall in scoring.

"I'm very excited to join the U of A community," said Josh Larson. "With top notch academics, a great coaching staff and a highly skilled team, I firmly believe that the university will provide me with everything I need to be successful not only on the ice but in my future career."

Standing at 6’2” 195 lbs., Larson brings a power-forwards' game with a scoring touch, along with additional leadership.

“We are very fortunate to add a quality kid like Josh to our room,” said coach Berman. “He brings a big body, likes to drive the net and plays well in the ‘dirty areas.’ He has a nose for the net and understands how to use his size to create time and space around the net; which is critical to succeed in the playoffs. He has a strong desire to win and I am very excited to see the immediate impact he can have on our program.”
