The Wildcats have added another forward to their 2016-17 recruiting class with the addition of Max Meyer.

Meyer, standing at 5’10”/180 lbs. - comes from Minnetonka, MN. He travels to the Wildcats after completing a very successful season with the Yellowstone Quake (NA3HL). Meyer finished the season with 54 points in 43 games played; tallying 23 goals and 31 assists. Meyer had another year of junior eligibility but decided he was ready to commit to the Wildcats.

"U of A seems like a perfect fit for my college education and hockey career," said Max Meyer. “It allows me to experience a big school atmosphere while being able to play in a top class facility. U of A also has a great business school and seems like a special place to live. I see a program with a lot of potential and I can't wait to be a part of it".

The Yellowstone Quake, one of the most successful teams in the NA3HL of recent years, continued their success by winning their league playoffs after defeating the Great Falls American 2 to 1 in the best of 3 series. The Quake went onto the Silver Cup (national Tournament) and came up short in the round robin bracket with a record of 2-1-0.

“Adding Max was a really important piece for us,” said Coach Berman. “He is a kid that can play all 3 forward spots for us; making him very versatile. My favorite part of his game is his hockey sense. He has a way of making the players around him better with his vision and feel for time and space. Additionally, he plays really well off the puck by anticipating lanes and the timing of those lanes opening up.”

The addition of Max Meyer is the 3rd forward added to the recruiting class, one that is shaping up to be very impressive.
