The Arizona Wildcats have announced Orion Olsen as team captain for the 2017/18 season.

Orion Olsen, standing at 6’2” 195-pounds, comes from Minnetrista, MN. This will be his 3rd year serving as a team captain for the Wildcats.

“Orion represents everything we want as the leader of our culture,” said Coach Berman. “He is always on time, treats people with great respect, and lays it on the line every night for his teammates. I have never received a mediocre effort from Orion; I know what to expect from him every day. It’s the right team and the right time for him to take the lead, I am excited to see where he can push this group.“

Olsen began his first year and a half as a match up power-forward, establishing himself as one of the premier penalty killers in the ACHA. However, last season due to an unusual bought of injuries, Orion filled in on defense and he hasn’t gone back.

“I think that tells you a lot about Orion as a whole,” said Coach Berman. “He is always willing to step up and do whatever the team needs. We want a roster full of ethnocentric people - you can’t manufacture that kind of personality trait - it’s just who he is. I am very proud to have witnessed his growth and maturity over the last few years - its no coincidence that he comes from a great family.”
