TUCSON, AZ – University of Arizona Wildcat Hockey is excited to announce the return of acclaimed hockey media-maker Timothy Gassen to the hockey staff. Gassen previously served as Media Director from 1998-2000 as well as this past 2016-2017 season.

Gassen will serve again as the “Voice of Wildcat Hockey” for the team’s game video Webcasts, and he will host and produce the “Wildcat Hockey Report” Coach’s video show, and other media materials. Gassen also serves as the media contact for UA Wildcat Hockey.

“My dedication to UA Hockey started more than 30 years ago, and I am more passionate about this team than ever before,” Gassen said. “I am honored to be part of Wildcat Hockey.”

Gassen won a 2017 Arizona Press Club Award for his hockey column in the Arizona Daily Star newspaper. He has written, produced, and directed numerous professional hockey video documentaries, authored hockey books, and written for many hockey publications. He’s also worked with the Hockey Hall of Fame, the United States Hockey Hall of Fame, and is president of the World Hockey Association Hall of Fame.

Gassen is also the radio color voice for the professional AHL Tucson Roadrunners, and contributes media for the NHL Dallas Stars and the WHA Hall of Fame.

All of this hockey media work created Timothy Gassen’s appropriate nickname: AZpuckMan

University of Arizona Hockey starts its home season at the Tucson Arena versus Grand Canyon University on Friday, September 29 and versus ASU on Saturday, September 30. The puck drops at 7:30 pm both nights. Tickets are available at the TCC box office or by calling 791-4101 option #1.
