FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

TUCSON, Ariz – University of Arizona Wildcat hockey will host archrival #26 Arizona State University at the Tucson Arena on Friday, February 16 at 7:30 pm.

PLEASE NOTE: the second game of the ASU series is SUNDAY, February 18 at 4 pm at the TCC.

These are the final two home games of the 2017-18 Wildcat season.

#16 Arizona is in line for a berth in the ACHA National Tournament this March, and these final games versus ASU appear to be must-wins to cement their bid.

The game on Friday, February 16 is a black out. Fans are encouraged to wear all black in support of the Wildcats, and after the game the team will auction the special black UA jerseys worn by the players.

Sunday, February 18 is senior day. This year’s Arizona hockey seniors – Sean Ozment, Roy Grandov, Griffin Dyne, Tyler Griffith, Nick Zellmer, Orion Olsen, and Austin Wilson – will be honored in their final home game as a Wildcat.

“I cannot stress enough how important these last games against ASU are for our program,” Wildcat head coach Chad Berman said. “We need Wildcat fans to jam the TCC and help us Friday night and Sunday afternoon. We need Tucson to Bear Down.”

#16 Arizona currently owns a 22-10-1 record and is 4-0-1 in games against ASU this season. The Wildcats captured The Cactus Cup – the trophy signifying the champion between Arizona and ASU hockey each season – the last time the Sun Devils played at the Tucson Arena in December 2017.

UPDATE: Two more regular season games are now added to the Wildcat schedule, Friday, February 23 and Saturday, February 24 on the road at #11 UNLV. These games will not count toward the ACHA National Tournament rankings, but the quality opponent will help prepare the Wildcats for tournament play.

UA Hockey home game tickets are available at the TCC box office or by calling 791-4101 option #1.
