Tucson Ariz.- University of Arizona Wildcat Hockey picked up a 3-2 overtime victory over #11 University of Utah on Thursday night. A back-and-forth battle saw the Cats come out on top for their first win on home ice in their second game at the TCC. Senior forward, Justin Hughes, played an incredible game picking up two goals and one assist. Freshman defenseman, Shea Barry, scored the other goal for the Cats in the victory. Junior goalie, Hadyn Gould, stopped 25 shots of the 27 he faced.
The Wildcats will be back on Friday afternoon to close out the season series vs. Utah after previously playing them on the road in October. The Cats are 2-1-0 vs. the Utes this season and look to close out the series with another win tomorrow.
Following this weekend, the Wildcats will be back home on Thursday and Friday night at 7:30 for a series vs. UNLV. UNLV, currently ranked #3 in the country, are a perfect 10-0 to start this season and hold wins over teams like ASU and GCU. Thursday night’s game will be military appreciation and Friday nights game will be a Friday the 13 th night. Doors open for all home games one hour before puck drop and tickets are free for all University of Arizona students with a valid CatCard.
