The Wildcats have added their 2nd forward over the holiday break with the addition of skilled forward, Greg Malafronte.

Malafronte, standing at 5’9” 160-pounds, comes from Holmdel, NJ where he grew up with current Arizona Wildcat captain, Anthony Cusanelli.

Malafronte will be transferring from SUNY Plattsburgh State (NCAA D III), one of the most prestigious division 3 programs in the country. Before spending his time in upstate New York, Greg played in the NAHL with the New Jersey Junior Titans, playing along current Wildcats captain, Anthony Cusanelli, putting up similar production with: 40 points (15 goals & 25 assists) in 52 games played.

“I chose Arizona because of its prestigious business program," said Greg Malafronte. I know that the Eller College of Management has an a mazing program that challenges students to bring out the best in themselves. Along with the education, Arizona has a great hockey program that competes for a National Championship every year and I am going to do my best to help achieve that goal."

Malafronte brings tremendous playmaking ability with a sneaky good shot and the skill-set to immediately contribute in all phases of the game. His elite speed and playmaking abilities should provide another dangerous weapon for the Wildcats down the stretch.

“The first thing you need to understand about Greg is that he is a tremendous kid,” said coach Berman. “He has a true passion for working with kids and giving back to the community. He’s exactly the kind of kid you want in your program.”

“Not to mention, we are adding a tremendous hockey player that will improve our power play, penalty kill, 4 on 4, etc. Last season  we were really excited to add Bayley Marshall because a player of that caliber can pull some attention away from Anthony Cusanelli - making both players more dangerous – creating a ‘choose your poison’ scenario. Hopefully we are able to do more of the same by adding another major weapon into the mix.”
