Arizona Wildcats forward Bayley Marshall has been voted by his peers as M.V.P.

Previous winners include: Anthony Cusanelli, Toppie Hogan, Austin Wilson, and Dylan Carter.

The St. Charles, IL native came to the Wildcats as a transfer player from the University of Central Oklahoma (ACHA) after playing NCAA DIII with Aurora University. Bayley played junior hockey in the NAHL with the Brookings Blizzard and Kanai River Brown Bears.

The addition of Bayley Marshall played a major role in the Wildcats incredibly successful 2018/19 season as he was able to divert some attention and create space for the previous years’ winner, Anthony Cusanelli. The two players hit it off immediately with instant chemistry and Bayley's season took off from there.

Game 1 should have been an early sign of things to come.

In his very first game wearing the Arizona sweater Bayley scored 5 points (2 goals, 3 assists) against GCU, setting the stage for what would become one of the most impressive seasons in Wildcat hockey history. He would eventually finish the season with 74 points (27 goals, 47 assists) in 38 games played.

When it was all said and done, Bayley would finish the 2018/19 season with a long list of awards:

• ACHA Player of the Year Finalist.
• ACHA Honorable Mention All-Tournament Team.
• WCHL M.V.P.
• WCHL 1st Team All-League.

“I was doing cartwheels around campus the day Bayley officially called me to commit,” said coach Berman. “Bayley brings so much to the game and when one of your best players is one of your hardest workers that sets a tone for the entire room. He immediately made our power play better. We tried to create 2 on 1 scenarios with him and Cus and it gave a lot of teams fits. But what really stands out to me about Bayley are his intangibles. He lead our team in face off %, shot blocks, takeaways, and was one of top PK pairs along with his brother Dawson. We are very lucky to have a player like Bayley so it’s important that we take advantage of this window of opportunity and reach higher.”

Bayley Marshall is currently studying Finance at the University of Arizona in the Eller College of Management – one of the highest ranked business schools in the entire country.
