Wildcats Drop Last Game of Series to Oklahoma
November 9, 2019
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Tucson Ariz.- University of Arizona Wildcat Hockey was unable to finish off the season sweep of Oklahoma on Saturday afternoon. The final score was 3-2 with Oklahoma scoring the 3rd goal early in the second period. The Wildcats picked up 2 power plays goals from Bayley Marshall and Jesse Lowell. Wildcats goaltender, Nolan Bivolcic, stopped 27 of 30 shots on the night.
When asked about the 3 game weekend head coach, Chad Berman, said “I do not think we brought our A game once this weekend. This group needs to come together and decide if being really good is acceptable, or they can choose to be excellent.”
The Wildcats will be back in action Friday and Saturday at 7:30PM to take on Western Michigan. Join us at the TCC on Friday for Hispanic/LatinX heritage night and on Saturday for our annual Teddy Bear Toss. When the Wildcats score their first goal on Saturday the bears go flying.
Following next weekend vs. Western Michigan, Arizona will continue its home stand with a pair of games vs. University of Las Vegas-Nevada. The Cats split the season series last year, 2-2, vs. UNLV with both teams earning a win at home and on the road. The Wildcats will get some rest over Thanksgiving weekend before coming back home the following weekend to finish of the semester with a pair of games vs. Arizona State on the 6th and 7th of December. The Cats are 2-2 vs. ASU this season and need 3 more wins to reclaim the Cactus Cup.
