Meyer Sends the Bears Flying as Wildcats Beat Western Michigan 3-2

Tucson Ariz.- University of Arizona Wildcat Hockey defeated Western Michigan 3-2 on Saturday night to earn the weekend sweep. Max Meyer send the teddy bear’s flying with a goal early in the 2nd period before adding a shorthanded goal minutes later. Bayley Marshall picked up the game-winning goal in the 3rd period on a power play snipe.  

When asked about the Teddy Bear Toss, Wildcats head coach, Chad Berman, said “The Teddy Bear toss is such a great event. Its such a good opportunity to have some excitement after a great goal and help give back to the community during this time of year.”

The Wildcats will be back in action on Thursday November, 21st to take on the Rebels from University of Nevada-Las Vegas (UNLV). All community members that bring two boxes of cereal to donate to Campus Pantry will receive 50% off their ticket at the box office. All students that bring one (1) non-perishable item can purchase a ticket for $3 at the box office.

Following Thursday night’s game, the Wildcats will be back for a Saturday matinee at 1pm to take on the same UNLV Rebels. After Thanksgiving weekend the Cats will battle bitter rival Arizona State on December 6th and 7th. Arizona is 2-2 vs. ASU this season and will look to end the semester on a high note.
