#7 Arizona Starts Out Second Semester with a Win

Tucson Ariz.- University of Arizona Wildcat Hockey started a second semester with a 4-3 win over the Missouri State Ice Bears. Arizona started the offense early with Anthony Cusanelli adding the first goal of the game just 40 seconds into the first period. Wildcats goaltender, Anthony Ciurro, picked up his 11th win of the season after stopping 31 of the 34 MSU shots. Alternate Captain, Christopher Westlund, added 2 goals and gets credit for the Game-Winning goal on the 4th Arizona goal of the night.

 When asked about preparation for tomorrow’s game head coach, Chad Berman said “I think we were on our heels in our D-zone, giving them too much time and space…We have to clean up the blue certainly, but we will take the win.”

The Wildcats will be back in action on Saturday January 18th to take on Missouri State for the last time this season. Puck drop is at 7:30PM for the 6th annual Pink the Rink game, where Arizona hockey teams with the Arizona Cancer Center to help put cancer in the penalty box. Be sure to wear pink to the game to support the Arizona Cancer and all ladies in pink will get free cotton candy when they enter in the Tucson Convention Center.

Following the Missouri State weekend, the Wildcats will host Grand Canyon University on the 23rd and 25th of January. The Cats will then hit the road for 5 games vs. Colorado State, Colorado, and the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. The Wildcats will host ASU for one more series this season on February 28th and 29th.
