#7 Arizona Lights the Lamp on ‘Pink the Rink’ Night

Tucson Ariz.- University of Arizona Wildcat Hockey dominated Missouri State University, 9-0, after putting 66 shots on goal. Wildcat Captain, Anthony Cusanelli, scored a hat trick, 3 goals, in the first period to help propel his team to victory. Cusanelli finished the night with 4 points, while forwards Jesse Lowell and Bayley Marshall finished with 2 points. 13 Wildcats recorded at least 1 point in tonight’s victory and goaltender, Nolan Bivolcic picked up his 6th win of the season.

 When asked about the importance of Pink the Rink Arizona head coach, Chad Berman, said “This is a special event and one of my favorite games every year. It is an honor to wear the names and represent those that have fought the battle of cancer.”

The Wildcats will be back in action next Thursday, January 23rd to take on the Lopes of Grand Canyon University. It will be the last Thirsty Thursday of the season where fans can purchase $2 beer/soda at all concession stands. The Wildcats will play their final day game on Saturday, January 25th at 1PM vs. the same Lopes on School Kids Day. Fans can stay after the game to meet players and get autographs in the locker room.

Following the Grand Canyon series, the Cats will hit the road to battle Western Collegiate Hockey League (WCHL) opponents Colorado St. and Colorado. Following those games, Arizona will head to Las Vegas to take on the University of Nevada-Las Vegas in a two-game series. The Arizona Wildcats will finally return home on February 28th and 29th to end the season with a rivalry weekend vs. Arizona State. The Cats will celebrate senior night during the ASU weekend as well as auction off the white third jersey’s.
