Wildcats Earn Weekend Sweep with Comeback Win Over Utah

Tucson Ariz.- University of Arizona Wildcat Hockey defeated the University of Utah 4-2 in a on Saturday afternoon to bring their record to 6-5-0. The Wildcats entered the 2nd period being down 2-0, but quickly turned it around with two goals in the first two minutes of the period. Forward, Max Meyer opened the scoring for the Cats and Ryan Fischer, kept it going just 22 seconds after. Greg Malafronte would later score the game winning goal for the Wildcats after a turnover in offensive zone by Utah. Rookie, Will Josephson, added the insurance marker in the 3rd period.
When asked about what the message was to the team for the 2nd period coach, Chad Berman, said “I didn’t say a word, I let them figure it out… I thought they responded perfectly, so all credit to the captains.”
The Wildcats will be back home next weekend to take on the Lopes of Grand Canyon. Friday night will be the annual Teddy Bear Toss night, all stuffed animals will be donated the Aviva Children’s services. Fans can enjoy food specials that include $5 Street corn in a cup, and a gummy bear blondie for $3.
Saturday, November 6th, the Wildcats will host Grand Canyon for the final time this season and will be wearing camo jerseys for Military appreciation night. Fans can enjoy a food promotion of Smoked brisket and a Coors Light/Pepsi with cheesy tater tots for $6. As always, Arizona students with a valid Cat Card will receive free admission into the game.
