Wildcats Split Weekend Set vs. Davenport

Tucson Ariz.- University of Arizona Wildcat Hockey split a weekend series vs. Davenport University this weekend to kick off the 2022-23 season. Davenport took a 3-2 Shootout win on Friday night, but Arizona would come back with a massive 6-2 victory on Saturday night. Arizona Freshman, Dylan Walker, scored the first goal of the year for Arizona on Friday night and would finish with two points on the night. New Arizona captain, Jesse Lowell, led by example on Saturday by blocking shots and scoring three goals to complete the hat trick.
When asked about the weekend coach, Chad Berman, said “Obviously yesterday way frustrating (Friday) we were leading shots two to one…Today was about showing killer instinct…I think we showed a lot of creativity today.”
The Cats will be back in action next Friday and Saturday night as they hit the road to battle Grand Canyon University. These will be the first conference games the Cats will play this year as they battle to regain the Western Collegiate Hockey League (WCHL) conference championship. Grand Canyon is 1-1-0 on the season with a win over Davenport University.
The Wildcats will be back home to take on the University of Utah at the end of the month on October 28th and 29th. Both games are set for 7:30pm starts, Saturday night (Oct 29) there will be a costume contest for fans with a chance to win prizes.
