The Wildcats are excited to announce the addition of forward Brian Schehr, from Oceanside, New York.

Brian Schehr will be transferring from the University of Rhode Island Rams. Before his time with the Rams, Schehr played Jr. A hockey in the EHL (Eastern Hockey league) for the New York Bobcats, contributing 7 goals and 9 assists, in 34 games.

“The fans can expect me to be the hardest working guy on the ice,” said Brian Schehr. “I pride my game on being very physical, brining energy, and getting to the dirty areas of the ice necessary for scoring goals and winning games.”

The addition of Brian Schehr comes to the Wildcats at a good time, as they have proven to compete against the best teams in the country, but have struggled to score goals. The Wildcats, already ranked 14th in the country, will look forward to the added depth up front.

“Schehr brings a competitive fire that any championship aspiring team needs,” said Coach Berman. “He plays the game with an edge, wins small battles, leads by example, and has a sneaky skill-set. We are a program that desperately wants to win a National Championship, so it’s essential that we continue to build our depth. We want to further increase the intensity of our practices by adding competition to get into the lineup. That kind of day-to-day competition only makes teams better. Tucson is desperate to cheer for a winning team, so as long as I am here, we will do everything in our power to make that happen.”
