University of Arizona Wildcat hockey starts its march to the ACHA National Tournament, and their second semester of 2017-18 season play, versus in-state rival Grand Canyon University on Friday, January 5 and Saturday, January 6 at the Tucson Arena.

PLEASE NOTE: Both Friday and Saturday games will start at 2 pm.

#13 Arizona swept #24 Arizona State in its last two games of 2017, winning the Cactus Cup trophy that signifies supremacy in Arizona college hockey for each season. The two wins catapulted the Wildcats into first place of the Western Collegiate Hockey League at the conclusion of the team’s first semester of play, with a 16-6 mark.

“We are excited to get back to the ice after a very happy holiday,” said UA head coach Chad Berman. “Ending the first semester with a championship gives us the opportunity to improve and build momentum toward more championships – starting this weekend against Grand Canyon.”

Arizona has eight home games remaining for the 2017-18 season.  The January 5 and 6 games will be the last afternoon games of the season. Next weekend’s games vs Utah will start with the usual 7:30 pm puck drop.

UA Hockey home game tickets are available at the TCC box office or by calling 791-4101 option #1.
