The Wildcats are back!

After finishing the semester as Cactus Cup Champions (winning the season series against ASU) and finishing with the best first semester record in decades (15-6-0), the Wildcats have added to an already deep roster with the addition of defensemen Kellan Ulnick and power-forward, Robert Smythe.

Keelan Ulnick, standing at 6’3” 195-punds, comes from San Clamente, California. Ulnick joins the Wildcats after a very successful career with the Gunnery, winning the New England Elite 8 Championship.

“Our staff is very excited about the addition of Kellan,” said coach Berman. “It’s rare to get a defenseman of this caliber during the semester break. He has a really long reach, with a tremendous stick, taking away time and space. More importantly, he adds to our championship culture we have established over the last couple of years as a tremendous kid.”

In addition to Ulnick, the Wildcats will see the return of power-forward, Robert Smythe. Smythe finished the 2016-17 season as one of their top scorers, finishing the season with 5 goals and 20 assists. During this season he was named the co-player of the month in November, along with last years M.V.P.  -Toppie Hogan.

Standing at 6’2” 190-pounds, Smythe is another player that will add a unique package of size and skill.

“Smythe has all the tools to be as good as anyone in the ACHA,” said coach Berman. “He is really heavy on the puck and possesses a professional-caliber shot. The addition of him allows for us to roll out 3 strong scoring lines, along with a pesky match-up line. If we can commit to the defensive details we have a chance to be a very difficult matchup for teams in the National Tournament.”

Kellan Ulnick will be wearing the #24 jersey and Robert Smythe will return to his old #22.
