The Wildcats strike again!

It’s still only April and the Wildcats have already added the 3rd player to the 2018-19 recruiting class with the addition of impact defensemen, Devon Langelaar!

Langelaar, standing at 6’1”, 185 – pounds, comes to the Wildcats from Red Deer, Alberta Canada. He has spent the previous two and a half years playing in for the Kimberly Dynamiters (KIHL).

The Dynamiters are coming off of a very good season after comfortably winning the Kootenay Conference Championship with a 38–7 1 record. Their success would continue into the postseason, advancing all the way to the to the Cyclone Taylor Cup.

The Cyclone Taylor Cup is the British Columbia Provincial Junior A Championship round robin tournament, consisting of the 3 league Junior B champions. The Dynamiters where were able take home the bronze medal, finishing just shy of advancing to the Keystone Cup.

“I am beyond excited to be joining the Arizona Wildcat Hockey program,” said Devon Langelaar. “I want to thank my parents, family, friends, coaches and teammates for the help along the way. I chose Arizona because I want to compete for a championship and play on an exciting team.”

Langelaar is known an elite skater with excellent vision, a theme that continues with the defensemen added to this recruiting class.

“Adding Devon is a huge get for us,” said coach Chad Berman. “With a good summer of work, he has a chance to immediately step in as ‘top 2’ defensemen and should provide an immediate boost to our power play. He is a great skater that attacks two on one’s really well and understands how to use his feet to create shooting lanes. Not to mention, he is another kid coming from a winning program, those kinds of players understand what it takes to be successful.”
