TUCSON, Ariz – University of Arizona Wildcats Hockey split their two-game weekend home series with the UNLV Skating Rebels after a 4-3 loss Sunday night at the Tucson Arena.

Vail Ardizzone, Anthony Cusanelli, and Bayley Marshall scored for the Wildcats. The game was tied 3-3 in the third period before UNLV scored the final goal of the game to earn the win.

“We didn’t do enough of the little things right in that last period to win the game,” said head coach Chad Berman. “But we have the Oklahoma schools coming to Tucson this week and now all our attention is on winning the WCHL crown.”

#7 Arizona boasts a 19-5 record and sits tied for first place in the Western Collegiate Hockey League with Central Oklahoma. UCO plays Arizona at the TCC Friday, January 18 and Saturday, January 19. Oklahoma starts the weekend series on Thursday, January 17.

The puck drops for all three games at 7:30 pm at the Tucson Arena.

Thursday is the popular “Thirsty Thursday” with $2 beers and $2 sodas, Friday is “50% Off Macho Nachos” night, and Saturday is the “Pink The Rink” fundraiser for the Arizona Cancer Center.
