#6 ARIZONA WILDCATS HOCKEY
ONE WIN FROM CACTUS CUP CHAMPIONSHIP
vs ASU Fri, Feb 22 & Sun, Feb 24 at TCC

February 18, 2019
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

TUCSON, Ariz. – University of Arizona Wildcat Hockey hosts arch rival Arizona State at the Tucson Arena on Friday, February 22 (puck drops at 7:30 pm) and Sunday, February 24 (puck drops at 4 pm). These are the final games for the 2018-19 Arizona Wildcat Hockey home slate.

#6 Arizona owns a 4-0 record vs Arizona State so far this season, and needs one more win to secure the Cactus Cup Championship for a second consecutive season. The Cactus Cup is awarded to the annual winner of the Arizona vs ASU hockey series.

“We want Tucson to come to the TCC and show their support this weekend for us,” Head Coach Chad Berman said. “Playing ASU is always the biggest Tucson hockey event for the entire year, and this is the last chance for Tucson to see the Wildcats as we get ready for a run in the National Tournament in March.”

The Friday, February 22 game is a “White Out” – Wildcat fans are asked to wear all-white in support of the Wildcats. A jersey auction will also follow the game.

The Wildcats will salute their Senior players at Sunday’s game, and have an autograph session with the entire team after the game.

Both games are part of UA Hockey’s annual Alumni Weekend, where Wildcat greats from the past gather to celebrate Arizona Hockey history.

#6 Arizona Hockey (26-6) is also just one league win away from winning their first-ever Western Collegiate Hockey League championship. The Wildcats have two WCHL games remaining, March 2 and 3, at Arizona State. (The February 22 & 24 games vs ASU are not WCHL contests.)

UA Hockey home game tickets are available at the TCC box office or by calling 791-4101 option #1.
