#8 ARIZONA WILDCATS HOCKEY
AT ASU FOR WCHL CROWN --
PLUS FIRST EVER UA ROAD BROADCASTS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

TUCSON, Ariz. – University of Arizona Wildcat Hockey travels to Tempe, Arizona to battle archrival Arizona State in the final two games of the regular season, March 2 and Sunday, March 3. The puck drops at 1 pm for both games at Oceanside Arena.

The #8 Wildcats (29-7) have already captured the Cactus Cup by sweeping ASU 6-0 so far this season, but another major goal is in sight: with any two points earned over these last two games Arizona would win the Western Collegiate Hockey League championship.

“Our goals for each season are to beat ASU, win the WCHL, and then win the National Championship,” said Head Coach Chad Berman. “These games are huge for us on our road to building a championship program.”

Arizona would gain the needed two league points with one regulation win (3 points), or one overtime win or one shootout win (2 points), or by forcing OT in both games (1 point each).

The Wildcats encourage all Arizona fans, whether in Tucson, Phoenix or beyond, to attend the games at Oceanside Arena to cheer them on to a possible championship. Tickets are available at the door, at 1520 N McClintock Drive in Tempe.

Arizona will also send their own Media Team to Tempe to produce the first-ever Arizona Hockey away-game video broadcasts. Media Director Timothy Gassen and UA student Jackson Peters will be on the call, with the broadcasts starting at 12:45 pm on Saturday and Sunday, with complete post-game coverage. www.youtube.com/c/uahockey

The WCHL trophy would be presented to the Wildcats if they win the championship.

After this weekend, Arizona waits for their seeding in the upcoming 2019 American Collegiate Hockey Association National Tournament, held March 21-26 in Frisco (Dallas area), Texas.
